Dr. Shalamon Duke received his doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Community College Administration from the University of Southern California, his master’s degree in Counseling from San Diego State University, his bachelor’s in English from Grambling State University and is currently pursuing his Juris Doctorate.

Dr. Shalamon Duke is currently the Dean of Counseling and Special Programs at Coastline Community College. Dr. Duke supervises various student services programs. He also serves as the college’s ombudsperson and discipline administrator.  Prior to his service at Coastline Community College, Dr. Duke served at Los Angeles City College, the University of Southern California, MiraCosta College, San Diego State University, and the California Department of Rehabilitation.

Dr. Duke is actively involved with various national organizations, such as, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA), and Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA) Board of Directors.

Additionally, Dr. Duke has presented at R.E.S.N.A. International Conference, National Council on Rehabilitation Education, California State University, Northridge International Disability Conference (CSUN), USC Student Affairs Directors Assembly, USC Center for Distance Learning Symposium, Advancement to Graduate Education Conference (CSUN), ACCCA Annual Conference, Policy Issues and Finance in the University and Community Colleges, and American Association of Community Colleges Conference.

Shalamon currently resides in Los Angeles County where he enjoys spending time with his wife Eckko and children Jamil (9) and Amir (7).  Dr. Duke is a founding member of the African American Male Education Network and Development (A²MEND).
